Alumni Whisky Series: Toronto Welcomes Keon

TORONTO, ON – On Friday, February 28th, 2020, dedicated hockey fans patiently lined up at the Summerhill LCBO in Toronto, for their chance to meet hockey legend, Dave Keon. Arriving as early as 11:00AM, the lineup rapidly multiplied, with hockey fans of all ages filling the store’s aisles. The Leafs’ icon was in town celebrating the launch of his Limited-Edition Alumni Whisky Series blend, with an autograph signing in the city where his historical career was established. As part of Wave 3 of the NHL Alumni Association’s partnership with J.P. Wiser’s, Keon’s unique whisky blend joined Yvan Cournoyer and Mark Messier, as part of ‘The Captains’ Line’. Seeing the tremendous outpouring of support, Keon requested that the event, which was scheduled to begin at 6:00PM, start early to ensure that all fans had the chance to get their bottle(s) signed. As fans ushered in one at a time, they took the opportunity to share their appreciation and fond memories from Keon’s time with the Leafs, including the franchise’s last Stanley Cup Championship in 1967. To accommodate every single fan in attendance, Keon continued signing beyond the scheduled time. The NHL Alumni Association would like to thank Dave for his tremendous dedication, willingness and involvement in this program, it truly makes a difference as we continue to ‘Honour the Past’.

Thank you to all of the J.P. Wiser’s and LCBO staff who dedicated their time and efforts to ensure this event was a great success. To all of the fans who waited in line and showed their loyalty and support, thank you. Stay tuned to the NHL Alumni Association’s website and social media channels for updates on Wave 4 of the Alumni Whisky Series.
