The NHL Alumni Association (NHLAA) exemplifies this commitment to its members in many different ways, including financial assistance, commercializing players’ rights, emotional support, physical care, post-playing career transition and family aid, all in furtherance of its efforts to ‘Honour the Past’. Since its inception, the NHLAA has acted as a liaison with its local chapters and has become the largest membership association for retired professional hockey players.

Kevin Bieksa (@kevin_bieksa) has officially retired from the @NHL after signing a one-day contract with the @Canucks.

Kevin was drafted to Vancouver in the 2001 Entry Draft, 151st overall. Since then he spent 13 seasons with the Canucks and @AnaheimDucks, playing in 808 regular-season games, and scored 278 points as a defenseman.

Bieksa was part of the Canucks Stanley Cup Finals run, creating a competitive culture in the locker room, and has been successful in his broadcasting career with @sportsnet.
