
Bryan Trottier – Vice Chair

Bryan Trottier was one of the most complete and successful players in NHL history, best known for his role as the heart of the New York Islanders’ dynasty in the early 1980s. Best known for his consistency, toughness, and clutch performance he was a gifted playmaker and strong two-way center, Trottier combined offensive skill, defensive responsibility, and leadership. He won the Calder Trophy as NHL Rookie of the Year in 1976, followed by the Hart Trophy as league MVP and Art Ross Trophy as scoring champion in 1979. Trottier played a central role in the Islanders’ four consecutive Stanley Cup championships from 1980 to 1983, anchoring the team’s top line and contributing in all situations. Later, he joined the Pittsburgh Penguins, adding two more Stanley Cups in 1991 and 1992 as a veteran leader. Trottier retired in 1994 with 1,425 points (524 goals, 901 assists) in 1,279 games. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1997.
