ST. LOUIS, MO. – The NHL Alumni Association (NHLAA) held it’s Board of Directors and Chapters Presidents Annual General Meeting on Friday, January 24th, 2020 in St. Louis, MO during the NHL All-Star weekend. New to the board for 2020 is Mark Messier, Paul Coffey and Chris Pronger having all joined the existing nine board members. Stepping down is Tyler Currie, Igor Larionov and Sean Pronger. The NHLAA is ecstatic to have these new members join and the entire NHL Alumni Association welcomes them.

New to the Board of Directors this year is Mark Messier. Messier has had a historic playing career winning six Stanley Cups and has been actively involved with the NHLAA, recently launching his J.P. Wiser’s Alumni Series Whisky, which is part of The Captain’s Series. The Hall of Famer’s credentials include former Assistant to the President and General Manager of the New York Rangers, was involved with the construction of the Kingsbridge National Ice Center and having his name on the Mark Messier Leadership Award. This award is presented to an Individual who ‘leads by positive example through on-ice performance, motivation of team members and a dedication to community activities and charitable causes.’

Another new addition to the Alumni Association Board of Directors this year is Paul Coffey. His 21-year NHL career produced four Stanley Cups, 14 All-Star appearances and his stats rank amongst the best in NHL history for a defenseman. He has been an avid supporter of the NHLAA’s initiatives, also launching his limited blend of the J.P. Wiser’s Alumni Series Whisky. Coffey is actively involved with his local community and was involved with “Shoot4Change”, which looks for the most impactful youth hockey club in Canada with the winner receiving a donation in their name to the Jumpstart Foundation to help underprivileged kids play hockey.

The last addition to the NHL Alumni Board of Directors is Chris Pronger. The Stanley Cup winner and four-time All-Star has recently seen experience as Senior Advisor of Hockey Operations at the Florida Panthers Hockey Club. Pronger has also worked in the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety for three years. Pronger has captured two Olympic Gold Medals, a Hart-Memorial Trophy, James Norris Memorial Trophy Win and has been named to the Hockey Hall of Fame.
