Over a 25-season career (1979\u20132004), he played for the Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers, and Vancouver Canucks, winning\u00a0<b>six Stanley Cups<\/b>\u2014five with Edmonton and one with New York. Messier was a key part of the Oilers&#8217; 1980s dynasty, playing alongside Wayne Gretzky and later captaining the team to a Cup in 1990 after Gretzky&#8217;s departure. In 1994, he famously guaranteed and delivered a Game 6 win in the Eastern Conference Finals, then led the Rangers to their first Stanley Cup in 54 years, cementing his legacy as a clutch performer and unmatched leader. He won the\u00a0<b>Hart Trophy<\/b>\u00a0as league MVP twice (1990, 1992) and finished his career with\u00a0<b>1,887 points<\/b>, second all-time at retirement.
