Over a 21-season career (1980\u20132001), Coffey played for nine NHL teams, most notably the Edmonton Oilers, where he was a vital part of their 1980s dynasty. He won\u00a0<b>four Stanley Cups<\/b>\u2014three with Edmonton (1984, 1985, 1987) and one with Pittsburgh (1991)\u2014and captured the\u00a0<b>Norris Trophy<\/b>\u00a0as the NHL\u2019s best defenseman\u00a0<b>three times<\/b>. Coffey ranks\u00a0<b>second all-time among defensemen in points (1,531)<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<b>goals (396)<\/b>, trailing only Ray Bourque. His\u00a0<b>138-point season in 1985\u201386<\/b>\u00a0remains a record for defensemen not named Bobby Orr. Coffey was inducted into the\u00a0<b>Hockey Hall of Fame in 2004<\/b>, recognized for redefining the defenseman\u2019s role with his offensive flair and end-to-end rushes.
