Though an offensive star in junior hockey\u2014scoring\u00a0<b>182 points in his final QMJHL season<\/b>\u00a0Carbonneau reinvented himself as a two-way center in the NHL, sacrificing personal stats for team success.\u00a0He won\u00a0<b>three Frank J. Selke Trophies<\/b>\u00a0(1988, 1989, 1992) as the league\u2019s top defensive forward\u00a0and helped the Montreal Canadiens capture\u00a0<b>two Stanley Cups<\/b>\u00a0in\u00a0<b>1986<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<b>1993<\/b>\u2014notably shadowing Wayne Gretzky in the \u201993 Final as team captain\u2014making him the last Canadian team captain to hoist the Cup.\u00a0After 12 seasons in Montreal, he played one year with St. Louis before joining the Dallas Stars, where he won his\u00a0<b>third Stanley Cup in 1999.
