Our team at the NHL Alumni\u00a0Association wants to echo this message. Whether it be a teammate, a loved one or a friend, we all have someone in our lives we fight for. As we look to honour the past, our team is reminded of Jimmy Valvano\u2019s iconic motto,\u00a0<strong><em>\u201cDon\u2019t\u00a0give\u00a0up. Don\u2019t\u00a0ever\u00a0give\u00a0up.\u201d<\/em><\/strong> and Stuart Scott\u2019s 2014 ESPYS speech:<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>\u201cYou beat cancer, by how you live, why you live, and in the manner in which you live.\u00a0So live.\u00a0Fight like hell.\u00a0And when you get too tired to fight then lay down and rest and let somebody else fight for you.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n&#8211; Stuart Scott,\u00a02014 ESPYS Jimmy V Award for Perseverance Recipient<\/p>\n<p>These are truly words to live by. This\u00a0Hockey Fights Cancer\u00a0Month, let\u2019s continue to embody both of these messages and fight\u00a0for those battling\u00a0today.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A very special thank you to the Arkells for sharing their music and message with us.
