The NHL Alumni Association (NHLAA), established in 1999, is a charitable organization in Canada and the US that serves as a passionate advocate devoted to bettering the lives of its members (all former NHL Players). The NHLAA exemplifies this commitment to its members in many different ways including financial assistance, commercializing players’ rights, emotional support, physical care, post playing career transition and family aid all in furtherance of its efforts to \u2018Honour the Past\u2019. Since its inception, the NHLAA has acted as a liaison with its 29 local chapters and has become the largest membership association for retired professional hockey players.<\/p><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

NHLAA INITIATIVES <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The NHLAA\u2019s Mission Statement is to \u2018Honour the Past\u2019. In June 2017, it launched the NHL Alumni Association\u2019s Group License Program. The Group License Program enables the NHLAA to use the collective personality rights of members in the marketplace for the benefit of NHLAA programs. Currently, over 1000 members have signed on to the Alumni\u2019s group license program, including the likes of Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier, Ray Bourque, Patrick Roy, Steve Yzerman, Jean Beliveau, Mats Sundin, Teemu Selanne, Johnny Bower and nearing 100 other Hall of Famers. As a result of this program, the NHLAA has been able to foster positive business relationships with over 20 licensees, partners and sponsors including Scotiabank, Molson Coors, Corby Spirit and Wine\/ J.P. Wiser\u2019s, Rogers Communications, Upper Deck and EA Sports.<\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The NHLAA welcomed Glenn Healy as Executive Director in June 2017. Glenn is a former goaltender with a 15-year NHL Career. He has served as the Director of Player Affairs for the National Hockey League Players’ Association and is also well-known from his time as a sports broadcaster with CBC, TSN and Rogers Sportsnet.<\/p><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
